👜 WEEK 1: Totally Tote-ally Awesome! 🧵
We’re kicking off Summer Sewing Camp with a stylish and functional project — a handmade tote bag!
Students will learn how to:
✅ Cut and prep fabric ✅ Use a sewing machine safely ✅ Sew straight seams like a pro
✅ Add straps and pockets for extra flair
They’ll leave the week with a one-of-a-kind tote bag they made themselves — perfect for books, snacks, or summer adventures! Bonus: We'll be using upcycled fabric to show how fashion and sustainability can go hand in hand. ♻️🎨

WEEK 1 - 12:00 - 2:00
👩🍳 WEEK 2: Flip It & Stitch It – Reversible Aprons! 🧵
This week, campers will sew up a super cute and totally reversible apron — perfect for baking, crafting, gardening, or gifting! 🍪🌿🎨
They’ll learn how to:
✅ Work with patterns and curved edges ✅ Sew lining and topstitch for a polished look
✅ Add a pocket for extra personality ✅ Use fabric combinations that show off their style
By the end of the week, each student will have created a two-in-one apron they can actually use — no boring projects here! We’ll also talk about how aprons used to be made from scraps, showing how even the smallest pieces of fabric can be turned into something useful and beautiful. ♻️💡

🩳 WEEK 3: Sew Easy, Sew Comfy – Elastic Waist Shorts! 🧵
This week, we’re stepping into the world of clothing with one of the easiest and most rewarding garments to make — basic elastic waist shorts!
Campers will learn how to:
✅ Read and cut a clothing pattern ✅ Assemble front and back pieces
✅ Create a casing and insert elastic ✅ Hem and finish seams for a wearable look
Whether they want pajama shorts, lounge shorts, or just something cool to wear in the summer heat — they’ll stitch it themselves and feel the confidence of making real clothing with their own two hands. 😎✨
We’ll explore different fabric options and how upcycled materials can be turned into stylish and functional fashion. 💚♻️

🎒 WEEK 4: Pocket Perfect – Drawstring Bags! 🧵✨
We’re wrapping up Summer Sewing Camp with the ultimate project: a fully lined drawstring bag with pockets! It's the perfect combo of style, function, and sewing skill — and a great way to show off everything students have learned so far.
Campers will learn how to:
✅ Sew a clean, professional lining
✅ Create and attach interior and/or exterior pockets
✅ Make a drawstring casing and insert cords
✅ Personalize their bag with fabric choices and custom details
This project brings together techniques from every previous week— from sewing straight seams and topstitching to creating casings and constructing functional designs. ✨
By the end of the week, students will leave with a versatile bag that’s great for school, travel, gym gear, or everyday use — and the confidence that comes from creating something amazing with their own two hands. 💪🎒
